You've found me at my personal frequency.

Marginalia, half-finished thoughts, songs on the loop, and the films and series I keep rewatching. Updated on Sundays, more or less.

There are things that overlap in my private pursuits, and when I'm simply exploring. This site is something about that overlap.

A bookworm, the kind who underlines and writes in the margins with different coloured pens. Cinema came later, as did music, then the slow realisation that these are all the same pursuit.

What you're looking at is closer to my disorganised desk than a website: a few things I'm reading, songs on repeat, photos from aimless wanderings, fragments of writings I keep tucked away in a drawer.

Crush

Richard Siken · 2005

Crush is a book of poetry I keep coming back to. The nameless first-person singular in his poems is bodysick from longings and desires.

his poems begin like an abrupt confession, unraveling in cinematic images.

HALF-FINISHED THOUGHTS

Many subtle channels

strictly personal takes, mostly kept in folders

I believe in beautiful patterns born from collisions. Occasionally, I write about the patterns I've noticed across culture, the arts, anecdotes, everyday encounters. They may seem incompatible from a distance, but once you notice how those are subtly channelled when woven together, your gaze remains open for possibilities. Click the typewriter and one rolls in.

— Tenderness is the new punk —
Hardened veneers, slick surfaces, smooth bodies, the infinite need to refine. When our feeds are fraught with friction-free ideals, being raw, vulnerable becomes a quiet rebellion in Joachim Trier's films. Despite the tender title, his recent film Sentimental Value has a strength that cuts a glass across the screen.

Feel bad with my best discomfort films

I know one should have a list of comfort movies, but then I came up with films that evoke discomfort like no other, pushing your boundaries. Fear not, I'll also tell you my best comfort movie food list as well :)

Touch my feelings with your body

In an era where bodies become entities, we are desperate for evidence of living flesh both on and off the screen.
